Our Story

OUR STORY (from Lauren's persepctive)

Picture of OUR STORY (from Lauren's persepctive)

The story is pretty simple.... We basically met through church.

Labor Day Weekend 2016, I was preparing to go to the John Merritt Classic party on the bridge. Just as I was getting ready to leave, I saw an unknown number calling. I usually do not answer numbers I do not know, but this night I did. He went on to introduce himself and that he received my number from his cousin Steve. He learned about my involvement in preparing online video announcements for our church (TWC Now). Of course, I was in a hurry and said I get back in touch because I was ready to GO! (Yes, I had a great time. Thanks Facebook for the memories lol)

Eventually, I did meet him at church and the rest was history. With his expertise in photography, videography, and broadcasting, he started to help with the online announcements which was a huge blessing and saved me so much time. It was a huge weight off my shoulders. We worked together closely on the announcements every week where a friendship bloomed......then a relationship.

Let him tell it, I was sad when he met me (which I was). I had a hard year when we met and I had just declared my "man-cation". 😆 Then here he comes. I reluctantly accepted a first date, but I said yes and went to Rafferty's. He says I barely looked up the whole time. It's true but it was a good night.

What really got my attention is when he took it upon himself to plan a date to a "Celebration of Whitney" concert at the symphony. If you really know me, you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE Whitney Houston and this concert was the closest I have ever gotten. It was everything! He will say I forgot he was there but it meant so much on top of him staying up all night to grade the million papers into the early hours of the morning that night. You know you got a good one when he will grade your papers and listen to your teacher rants every day…….Yes, he still does lol)

With a lot of prayer, love, patience, forgiveness, healing, and encouragement towards one another, we are now 7 years strong. I look forward our new chapter.
